There has different price for the DVD drive, the reason why is due to the speed(include writer and reader speed) and material(like plastic or metal) also the mould of design. that's my word for the price of different to DVD writer.

We all know the writer speed from 6x to 24x also has CD-R, CD-RW, DVD-RW, DVD+RW, DVD+RAW, DVD-R, DVD+R etc. However the reader speed also these disc style.
